The Child Inpatient Program

Treatment occurs in a highly structured, secure environment which provides an opportunity for children ages 5-13 to learn and practice skills to manage a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and family problems.

Inpatient Treatment for Children

The patient, family, and referring health professionals are integral parts of our comprehensive treatment plan, which includes group, family, recreational therapy, activities therapy, and medication management. The Child Inpatient Program addresses the needs of patients who are experiencing:

  • Depression/suicidal thoughts
  • Urges to commit suicide/suicide attempts
  • Self-harming behaviors
  • Aggressive/impulsive behaviors
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Anxiety disorder
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Panic disorders
  • Substance abuse
  • Personality disorders
  • Thought disorders/paranoia

Our Child Inpatient Program includes art therapy, family education, dance, and movement therapy and psychotherapy. We also focus on behavioral techniques such as:

  • Role-playing
  • Modeling
  • Redirection
  • Family education
  • Managing emotions and behaviors

Treatment occurs in a highly structured, secure environment, and we take pride in our staff of specialized, highly-trained health professionals. Our program offers internal medicine monitoring, daily visits from our board-certified psychiatrists and licensed mental health professionals.
